The Moi University African Multiple Research Centre (Moi–AMRC) invites applications for two residential Visiting Research Fellowships beginning in June 2026. The fellowships will be hosted at Moi University, Eldoret, Kenya, and will run for three to five months. The fellowships are open to scholars from a wide range of social science and humanities disciplines whose research aligns with the theoretical and thematic agendas of the Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence. Applicants whose work engages interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches are especially encouraged to apply. The duration of each fellowship will be determined in consultation with the successful applicant, based on their proposal and availability. Each fellowship includes:
- A return economy-class air ticket, and
- A monthly stipend of €1,200 to cover accommodation and subsistence expenses.
Fellows will be provided with office space and full access to Moi University’s library and online research resources.
During their residency, fellows will be expected to:
- Present their research in the Moi–AMRC Africa Colloquium Series toward the end of their fellowship.
- Produce at least one publication arising from the fellowship project, where appropriate, for one of the publication platforms of the Cluster of Excellence; and
- Participate in academic activities at the university, including seminars and workshops.
Fellows are also encouraged to engage with and collaborate with researchers affiliated with
Moi–AMRC.
